AP: Padmavati Express catches fire in Prakasham
Hyderabad, Sep: On Wednesday, Sep 23 a minor fire broke out in two AC coaches of the Padmavati Express in Prakasham district of Andhra Pradesh. There are no reports of any casualties. As per the reports three passengers suffered breathlessness as a result of smoke.
"The fire was detected around 3.30 am between Lavapadu and Tettu station in the district," said Prakasham district Superintendent of Police Navin Chand. Thick smoke and fire were first noticed in one of the AC bogies from rearside and alert passengers pulled the chain to stop the train. Fire was also noticed in another AC bogie.
The railway personnel detached the two bogies of the train that runs between Secunderabad-Tirupathi and evacuated the passengers. A team of forensic experts rushed to the site to investigate the reasons behind the incident, he added.
