40 monks fall ill after food poisoning

Guwahati, Sep 24 (UNI) About 40 monks fell ill due to food poisoning in Upper Assam's Margherita area.

According to official report, the monks fell sick yesterday after some religious function. As they could not recover today, they were shifted to hospitals.

Some of them were in serious condition.

Margherita, about 550 km from here, has a large Buddhist population. Details were still awaited.
