UFBU to go on 2-day strike from tomorrow
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Sep 23 (UNI) The members of United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) will go on a two-day country-wide strike from tomorrow to oppose merger and privatisation of banks and foreign investment in public sector banks.
Ravindra Deshpande, All India general Secretary of Bank of Maharashtra Karmchari Sangh (BMKS), told UNI that the UFBU, comprising of nine unions, will also demand pension option, speedy implementation of ninth bipartite settlement, appointments on compassionate ground and recruitment of new staff in banks.
Indian Banks Association is adopting delaying tactics and not implementing MOU of February 25,2008, causing discontent amongst bank employees, Mr Deshpande added.
