Silesia keen to cooperate with Mah: Lapinski
Mumbai, Sep 23 (UNI) Marek Lapinski, Chief Minister of Lower Silesia, the largest province of Poland, today showed keen interest to develop cooperation with Maharashtra in the areas of Information Technology, automobile sector, mining and textiles.
Mentioning that the Lower Silesia is the hub of automotive sector with presence of various carmakers, Mr Lapinski, who is on a four-day visit to India, said his region would particularly welcome investment from India in the automobile sector, according to an official release issued here.
Mr Lapinski was speaking to Maharashtra Governor S C Jamir at Raj Bhavan here this morning.
Welcoming Mr Lapinski to the state, Mr Jamir said India has traditionally enjoyed friendly relations with Poland and felt that State-to-State cooperation between Maharashtra and the Lower Silesia region of Poland will further strengthen the relations between the two countries. The Governor also expressed the need to promote contacts between the Universities in Maharashtra and Universities in the Lower Silesia region of Poland.
The Chief Minister of Lower Silesia is also leading a delegation of business leaders and academicians. Legislators from the Lower Silesia region and Consul General of Poland in Mumbai, Janusz Bylinski were also present at the meeting, the release said.
