Mah govt to observe RTI Day on Sep 28

Mumbai, Sep 23 (UNI) Maharashtra government has decided to observe September 28 as Right to Information (RTI) Day, throughout the state from this year.

The Day would coincide with International Right To Know Day.

A decision to this effect was taken by the state government on September 20, in order to create more awareness about the Act and its uses among common people, an official release said today.

Several quiz, drawing, essay and debate competitions will be organised in schools, colleges, universities and other educational institutions to create awareness among students.

The District Collectors have been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the events at district level, the release added.
