IAF to enthrall Mysore Dasara crowd

Mysore, Sep 23: Metal birds are all set to enthrall the crowd in Mysore on Sunday, Oct 5 during the ten-day dasara celebrations. Talking to newspersons on Monday, Sep 24 Deputy Commissioner and Dasara special officer P Manivannan said the Indian Air Force (IAF) would lead the air show in which helicopter shows, parajumping from 6,000 ft by the Air Force personnel, MIT 32, Jaguar, N 32 Dora and display of helicopter models and surya kiran aircraft with remote control would be shown by the Adarsha of Bangalore Training Institute.

The authorities would also organise 'Janapadotsava' from Friday, Oct 3 to Tuesday, Oct 7 in which more than 50 folk troupes from different parts of the state would take part, he said. On the opening day the folk troupes would take out a Janapada maravanige folk procession on Friday, Oct 3, he added.

As part of the festivities the authorities would organise a poetry conference for five days in which various poets from across the state would take part, he said.
