Puducherry,Sep 23 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition A M H Nazeem (DMK) today urged the administration not to retrench any employee appointed by the previous Rangasamy Government under the pretext of taking austerity measures.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Nazeem expressed happiness on the unity among Ministers and said it should continue without hitch. The official machinery should be geared to make up for the one year of stagnation.

On the government's move to hand over the government medical college building to the ESI,Mr Nazeem said the DMK was yet to get the details.

Whatever may be the case, the building should house a medical college benefitting the students in Puducherry,he said.

To a question,Mr Nazeem said as far as the DMK was concerned the power to take any decision wrest with Party Leader M Karunanidhi.

When the Congress wanted to share power in Tamil Nadu to develop the party, the DMK should also develop in Puducherry,he said.

He refused to comment on the move to form the Third Front under the leadership of PMC here.
