Deve Gowda to visit ailing Jyoti Basu

New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) president H D Deve Gowda will visit Kolkata tomorrow to call on ailing Marxist patriarch and former West Bengal chief minister Jyoti Basu.

JD (S) general secretary K Danish Ali today said he would accompany Mr Gowda on his visit to Kolkata to call on Mr Basu who has been in hospital on account of ill-health.

The JD (S) would sit on dharna on September 25 against the Indo-US nuclear deal under the banner of United National Progressive Alliance, he added.

Mr Basu suffered a fall in the bathroom of his Salt Lake home early on September 5. He underwent a CT scan a day after his fall and was advised hospitalisation. He also received stitches on his forehead. A second CT scan was done on him later.
