Delhi Police Sub-Inspector sentenced to 3-yr RI in graft case
New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Special Judge, CBI, V K Mahashwari, today sentenced Pritam Singh, a Sub-Inspector with the Delhi Police, to three years rigorous imprisonment (RI) on grounds of corruption.
Pritam Singh, who was posted with the Economic Offences Wing of the Delhi Police, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from Yoginder Singh, a manpower consultant.
An FIR for cheating and criminal conspiracy had been registered against Yoginder Singh in the year 1998. Pritam Singh, who was the investigating officer in that case, demanded a sum of Rs 10,000 for helping Yoginder in the case.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convicted Sub-Inspector.
