AP govt initiates measures to complete projects: CM
Nizamabad, Sept 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the Government had initiated measures to complete the irrigation projects in the State for the benefit of farmers and agricultural labourers.
Inaugurating the canal modernisation works at Nizam Sagar project in the district at an estimated cost of Rs 555 crore, the Chief Minister said the ayacut would be strengthened.
Dr Reddy said the Government had completed Rs 600 crore Ali Sagar Life Irrigation scheme in the district under 'Jalayagnam'. The Government would take steps to provide irrigated waters in all the Telangana districts, he added.
He said the Government was providing Rs 10 crore loan to Self Help Groups (SHG) at all mandals in the state.
The Chief Minister distributed Rs 100 crore loan to women members of the SHGs.
