1000 mw Nabinagar thermal plant to become operational by 2012:Nikhil
Aurangabad, Sep 23(UNI) Congress MP Nikhil Kumar today said the 1,000 MW capacity super thermal power plant at Nabinagar will be operational by April 2012.
Mr Kumar told UNI that the process of land acquisition for the thermal power plant was in last phase and the NTPC has already provided Rs 27 crores for payment of compensation to the land owners.
''The Nabinagar super thermal power plant is to be established by the joint venture of NTPC and Railways,'' Mr Kumar said and added that an Industrial Training Institute(ITI) would also be opened near the thermal power plant to enable the local youths for receiving special training required for recruitment in the plant.
Mr Kumar said 60 per cent seats of the proposed ITI will be reserved for the dependents of the farmers displaced during the land acquisition for the thermal power plant.
The Congress MP said he would personaly meet Jharkhand Chief Minister Shibu Soren in October to ensure supply of water for the project from Hariahi and Kutku dam.
