Vigilance grills BIS Chahal on Amarinder's assets

Patiala, Sep 22 (UNI) The Punjab Vigilance Bureau grilled former chief minister Capt Amarinder's media adviser BIS Chahal today at the vigilance office here.

Chahal, who answered most of the queries put to him, however, refused to divulge details of Capt Amarinder's specific assets despite the questioning which lasted over two and a half hours.

The former chief minister has already been questioned by VB on July 6 regarding disproportionate assets case under sections 7, 8, 9, 13-1-D-E and 14 (13-2) of Prevention of Corruption act of 1988 and 120-B of IPC.

Chahal was earlier summoned by the VB for making himself available for questioning relating to the former CM's disproportionate assets case.

Chahal, who was also quizzed about the extent of his association with the former chief minister, did not divulge any specific details maintaining that he had nothing to do with them.

A team of vigilance officials headed by VB Patiala's SSP Shiv Kumar Sharma questioned Chahal in the morning today.

Mr Sharma, when asked about the interrogation did not give away many details.

He, however, said that Chahal had cooperated with the team during his questioning.
