Ten, including two foreign tourists, evacuated from Sarchu

Shimla, Sep 22 (UNI) As many as 10 people, including two foreign tourists, were today evacuated from Sarchu to Keylong, said Lahaul and Spiti Deputy Commissioner C Palrasu.

Mr Palrasu said that district adminstration was making all out efforts to rescue the people who are stranded in the area due to heavy rainfall in last three days.

Essential commodities like food stuff, medicines, blankets and tents are also being air dropped in the area.

He said that control rooms had been set up at Sarchu, Keylong and Koksar for providing information and added that Tehsildar had been deputed at Koksar to monitor rescue operation.
