Shirodkar takes over as new GPCC President

Panaji, Sep 22 (UNI) Senior Congress leader Subhash Shirodkar today took over as the new president of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) from outgoing chief Francisco Sardinha.

Mr Shirodkar, who was appointed party president last week by AICC, took over charge in the presence of Chief Minister Digamber Kamat and other leaders at a function held at the Congress house here.

Later, the newly-appointed GPCC president said he would go to the grassroots level to strengthen the party.

Mr Shirodkar and Mr Kamat later left for New Delhi to meet party president Sonia Gandhi, a release said here.
