School and colleges remain shut in AP

Hyderabad, Sep 22: All schools and Junior Colleges in Andhra Pradesh remained closed on Monday, Sep 22 following one-day bandh call, given by students orgnisations, demanding action against the owner of the corporate Narayana College following the death of a student due to parapet wall collapse on September 20.

The student organisations, including Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Students Federation of India, demanded action against the management of Narayana college for running the college without the government's permission.

Some educational institutions voluntarily closed down due to bandh call. Students of various organisations staged a dharna in front of the Narayana college. However, the police dispersed the agitating students from the spot.

One student was killed and 28 others were injured when a parapet wall of the Narayana college collapsed on Saturday.

The State Government had already filed a case against the college management and the building owner, under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. Three persons from the college management have been already arrested.
