PHC Deputy Civil Surgeon held for bribe in AP

Hyderabad, Sep 22: The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested Chadurthi PHC Deputy Civil Surgeon in Karimnagar district for accepting Rs 2,000 as bribe from a complainant for doing an official favour.

K Rajaiah was caught red handed by the officials at Shiva Theatre complex in Jyothinagar in Karimnagar for accepting the bribe for issuing attendance certificate to the complainant.

The tainted amount was recovered from him.

He was produced before Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Hyderabad, a press release here said.

In another case, Special Branch Head Constable in Tanuku in West Godavari district was arrested by the ACB officials yesterday for accepting Rs 300 as bribe from a complainant for conducting verification and submitting the report to Inspector S B Eluru for issue of passport to the complainant.

The tainted amount was recovered from accused B Saibaba, who was produced before Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Vijayawada today.

UNI
