Japanese delegation visits TN port
Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, Sep 22 (UNI) A five-member delegation from JETRO of Japan (Japanese External Trade Organisation) under the leadership of Mr Masahiro Akiyama, Chairman, Ocean Policy Research Foundation, Tokyo, visited the Tuticorin Port Trust (TPT) here to study port development, cargo movement and management and port administration.
Last evening, the panel discussed about Japanese direct investment in Tuticorin in ports and other businesses.
In his address, Mr Akiyama said this visit would be useful to find business opportunities with special focus on port development.
The visit would be very useful to explore opportunities in ship building, automobile,steel, auto components, imports and exports.
The delegation was giving an explanation on the existing infrastructure here and about road, rail and air links and availability of labour.
