Govt to provide SPF at hospitals

Tirupati, Sep 22 (UNI) After the recent attack on the junior doctors by the relatives of the deceased at Government Ruia Hospital in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh government is contemplating to establish special Protection Force (SPF) to protect the doctors working at government and private hospitals in the state, State Medical Education Minister Galla Aruna Kumari said here today.

Ms Kumari had lengthy discussions with the junior doctors who were on strike since last four days and have just called of their strike which was in protest against the attack on their colleagues and demanding strong police protection for them.

Ms Kumari while talking to the mediapersons, said the government had already sanctioned Rs 1 crore to provide security at sensitive hospitals and SPF would be provided in the next 10-15 days at various government and private hospitals including Government Ruia hospital in Tirupati.

''We have already provided security at Neliofur, Osmania , Gandhi and city hospitals in Hyderabad,'' she said.
