Govt decided to recruit 5,350 lecturers and other teaching faculty
Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at a meeting today with the ministers and officials decided to recruit total 5,350 lecturers and other teaching faculty for the Junior, degree colleges and University soon.
The Chief Minister directed the departments of Intermediate Education, Collegiate and higher education to go ahead. Of this, notification has already been issued for 500 University College teachers, 500 degree college lecturers and 1100 Junior College lecturers.
There are at present 183 Government degree colleges and the Chief Minister has sanctioned 58 more thus there would be 241 degree colleges at the end of the academic year in the State Besides there are 179 aided degree colleges also in the State and the vision of the department is that each student speaks in English and the student is trained for job while studying.
As far as collegiate education is concerned, the Chief Minister agreed that 1,000 new lecturers will be recruited directly by APPSC in addition to the 500 posts for which notification has already been issued. He asked the district collectors to identify land for new colleges. He directed the finance to additional funds for new colleges and contract lecturers.
