Godavari floods cause damage to crops in Beed
Beed, Sep 22: The water discharged from the Nath Sagar dam to Godavari river had badly affected crops of Georai and Majalgaon talukas in Beed district.
Crops like cotton, sugarcane and bajra in Georai and Majalgaon talukas were badly damaged.
Resident Deputy Collector, Beed Prashant Shelke said The administration will soon start panchanamas of casualties and crop damages, but prima facie reports says that around thousand acres of crops will be affected.
Chairman of Zilla Parishad's committee for Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Vijay Sinha Pandit said ''The Government should give compensation to the farmers, whose crops are damaged in flood waters.''
