Girl commits suicide following eve-teasing

Jamshedpur, Sep 22 (UNI) A minor girl committed suicide by consuming poison following continuous eve-teasing and intimidation by a neighbouring youth in the blast bustee under Golmuri police station in the city.

Police said here today that Sangita (15), a student of class X, was disturbed due to continuous indecent and intimidating phone calls made by her neighbour Paitali Singh (23), who had also threatened her parents of dire consequences if they complained to the police.

A case under section 306 IPC for abettment to suicide was registered against the absconding youth and a manhunt was launched to nab the miscreant.
