Delhi Police team in K'taka; Bashar in Jaipur

Udupi, Karnataka, Sep 22: A team of police officials from New Delhi, investigating the recent serial bomb blasts there, arrived in Udupi to find out if some of the components used in the explosives (used in the Delhi blasts) were sourced from Manipal, near here.

IGP (Western Range) A M Prasad and Udupi Police Superintendent Pawar accompanied the team. Mr Prasad requested the mediapersons not to disturb the team at this junture, when they enquired about the progress of the investigations. He said Delhi had got some telephone numbers from the arrested persons based on which the police were investigating.

Meanwhile the key accused in Ahmedabad and Jaipur serial blasts Mufti Abu Bashar alias Bashar was taken to Jaipur on Sunday, Sep 21 night. A Special Operation Group (SOG) team has brought him from Delhi for interrogation and further investigations in May 13 serial blasts which had left 68 people dead in the Pink City, police sources said.

Bashar was nabbed by Gujarat Police from Uttar Pradesh and during interrogation his involvement in Jaipur blasts was revealed. Meanwhile Delhi Police had also taken him to Delhi to interrogate him in connection with September 13 blasts in the capital.
