Clearance obtained for 120 irrigation projects
Vijayawada, Sep 22 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh major and minor irrigation minister Ponnala Lakshamaih taday said clearance for 120 irrigation projects in the state had been obtained during the last four and half years of the Congress government's tenure, spending Rs 34,000 crore.
Addressing a public meeting at Nunns near here he said the clearances obtained for the irrigation projects was in the form of environment, forest and others.
Mr Lakshamaih said 196 tmc of water from Prakasam barrage and 1,960 tmc of water from Bowleswaram barrage in East Godavari district had been let out into the sea as surplus water during the past one year.
