CAMPCO declares 10 per cent dividend

Mangalore, Sept 22 (UNI) The Central Arecanut Marketing and Processing Company (CAMPCO) Limited which had earned a net profit of Rs 6.93 crore for the year 2007-08, today announced a dividend of 10 per cent to its shareholders.

Highlighting the performance of the company during 2007-08 at a press conference here, CAMPCO President S R Rangamurthy said the company had earned a gross profit of Rs 42.54 crore as on March 31, 2008 after recording profits since last three years..

He said the Company's Chocolate unit has achieved the highest ever production of 10376 MT of industrial Chocolates and chocolates against 7,000 MT previous year.

The unit had also earned a net profit of Rs 37.04 lakh before Tax and Rs 11.42 lakh after Tax. The company had also programmed to utilize the CCF unit to its 100 per cent capacity by targeting annual chocolate production of 12,000 MT, including finished and industrial Chocolates during the current financial year.

He said CAMPO had purchased arecanut of 39175 MT valued at Rs 34589 lakh and sold 42483 MT valued at Rs 41063 lakh during 2007-08. The company had projected to purchase 45,000 MT and sell 46000 MT of arecanut during 2008-09.

He said during the current financial year, the company had procured 2938 MT of Wet Beans and 1569 MT of Dry Beans. The consumption of Cocoa Dry beans was 2587 MT during the current year, the company had projected to procure 7000 MT of Cocoa Wet Beans and 2000 MT Dry Beans. The exported Cocoa based products during the year was 1609 MT, worth Rs. 14446.83 lakh. The projected export of Cocoa based products during the current year was 3000 MT.
