UPA govt failed to check terrorism, inflation: Advani
Ahmedabad, Sep 21 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition Lal Krishna Advani today came down heavily on the Congress-led UPA government at the centre and said that it has failed in curbing terrorism and checking inflationary trend in the economy.
Speaking at a function to release a book on Sachar Committee report here this evening, Mr Advani said that central government has failed to realise the necessity for tough laws to counter terrorism.
He said that terrorism is not an ordinary crime, stringent laws like POTA are required to curb it. Only after bomb blasts took place in Delhi, the central government admitted the need to have tough laws, Mr Advani said.
Mr Advani alleged that the present government at the centre has also failed to check the inflationary trends and spiralling prices have made common man's life more difficult.
