TN tightens security
Chennai, Sep 21 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Director General of Police K P Jain today said security has been beefed up across the State, including the Capital City, following threat of terror attacks.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, he said the Centre has issued a general alert to all states, including Tamil Nadu, in the wake of last week's serial blasts in New Delhi.
''We are aware of it. We have taken all preventive measures.
Security has been beefed all over the State including Chennai,'' he added.
Additional police personnel were deployed in important places and where people congregated in large numbers.
He said police personnel were also being given advanced training in detection of bombs and defusal.
