Thirdware opens new facility, to up headcount

Chennai, Sep 21 (UNI) Thirdware Solutions Limited, an IT consultant and service company, will increase its headcount to 1,500 from the present 650 in the next two years.

Talking to reporters after inaugurating its development centre devoted exclusively to business technology practice, Thirdware Chairman and CEO Pradeep Erinjery and Head Marketing Subbu Balakrishnan said the 1,500 personnel would be spread across its centres in US, Europe, China and India.

While ten per cent would be based in North America, 15 to 20 per cent would be in China and the balance in India.

''All of them will be on India payrolls and majority of them will be in travel mode to take up customer projects in Europe, US and China,'' he said.

To a question, Mr Pradeep said the new 15,000 sq ft centre at DLF IT City would help the company sustain 30 per cent year-on-year growth.

The company had invested two million US Dollars in the new facility, the fourth such in India.

At the new facility, Thirdware would be investing in developing solutions and frameworks that would help address key business issues faced by customers.

''Thirdware has been engaging in the US market and built a significant pipeline of opportunities which will be serviced out of this facility.

''The new development centre will be utilised for creating solutions and intellectual property around business technology. With the increased global adoption of Web and Enterprise 2.0, we plan to develop significant capabilities to address the enterprise IT requirements,'' Mr Pradeep said.

''Our business technology solutions and IP along with the China Delivery Center, which was opened recently, will enable us to be the partner choice for MNC companies expanding in the Asia Pacific Region,'' he added.
