Sugarcane cutters to launch agitation in Mah

Kolhapur, Sep 21 (UNI) Sugarcane cutters and transporters in Maharashtra will hold a state-wide agitation on September 25 and 29 to press for their demands.

Representing the agitators, Subhash Jadhav today said at least ten lakh workers across the state would take out a morcha to the district collector offices on September 25 and 29, to demand a separate ''mahamandal'' for the workers, hike in cane cutting and transportation cost, schools for their children, free medical service and implementation of accident insurance schemes.

If their demands are not considered the agitation would be intensified, he threatened.
