Marathi film 'Tingya', an independent entry for Oscars

Mumbai, Sep 21 (UNI) Besides 'Taare Zameen Par',the official Indian entry, Marathi film 'Tingya' will also vie for the Academy award in the best film in a foreign language category as an independent entry, Ravi Rai, producer of the movie, said today.

He, however, clarified that he was not against Film of Federation of India choosing 'Taare Zameen Par' as the official Indian entry, because both films were good enough to make selection tough for the jury.

Critically acclaimed 'Tingya' has more than 30 awards, including five international awards in its kitty.
