Bomb threat on Marusagar Express; nothing untoward found
Kochi, Sep 21 (UNI) Extensive searches were carried out on the Ernakulam-Jaipur 'Marusagar Express' here today following an anonymous telephonic threat about a bomb being placed on the train, railway officials said.
The train was searched thoroughly at the marshalling yard and also at the Ernakulam South station before its scheduled departure at 1955 hrs, the officials said.
The search was carried out by the bomb disposal squad of the Kerala Police and the personnel of the Railway Protection Force.
However, nothing untoward was found and the train left Ernakulam at its scheduled time.
As a precautionary measure, searches would be conducted at the intermediary stations also, the officials added.
