Five killed, three injured in road accident

Mumbai, Sep 21: At least five people, including two children, were killed and three others injured when a over truck turned on the Eastern Express Highway at Andheri here.

Police said the incident occurred at around 1 30 pm when the truck, on its way to Panvel, slipped over a pothole. All the victims were crossing the road when the vehicle hit them.

Among the deceased, three have been identified as Tinu S Kadam (5), Jiten K Sawla (3) and Ramesh Tilak, police said. The injured have been admitted to a private nursing home, police said.
