2 women killed in stampede in Karnataka
Bellary, Karnataka, Sep 21 (UNI) Two women were killed on the spot and ten other injured in a stampede at Kaul Bazar here today during distribution of free foodgrains.
Police said a Congress leader had arranged distribution of food grains for the poor during 'Ramzan'.
There was heavy rush and stampede took place as soon as the shop opened in the morning.
The deceased were identified as Shyamala (38) and Noorjahan (60) The injured were admitted to hospital and the situation was stated to be under control.
