Volvo CE signs MoU with Visveswaraya University
Bangalore, Sep 20 (UNI) Construction equipment major Volvo CE today signed an MoU with Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU) to offer special Post Graduate courses in Road Technology.
The civil engineering courses would be offered by Resource Centre for Asphalt and Soil Training Academy (RASTA), which was promoted by Volvo.
VTU, which overseas the academic functions of 144 engineering colleges in Karnataka, has recognised city-based RASTA as an extension centre to offer PG courses, according to RASTA sources here.
Under the MoU, it would offer MTech degree in Highway Technology and Diploma and Certificate courses in Road Technology.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr H P Kincha, Vice-Chancellor, VTU, and Patrick Olney, President (Road Machinery Business), Volvo CE.
VTU was the only University in the country offering this course where there has been acute shortage for competent civil engineers to meet and execute government's plan to build world class road system, RASTA Dean said.
