Shun discrimination in treating cancer patients: Shabana
Patna, Sep 20 (UNI) Eminent film actress and noted social worker Shabana Azmi today said social discrimination on the basis of religion, caste and creed should not come in the way of treatment to the cancer patients.
Inaguarating a Pain Clinic of Mahavir Cancer Sansthan in the Phulwarishariff area here, the sitting MP of Rajya Sabha said people should extend their helping hands to the cancer patients, rather than displaying biasness.
'' Humanity should be preferred first,'' she added.
The actress commended the Mahavir Cancer Sansthan and hoped that the poorest of the poor people would get proper medical facilities and assistance.
''Biharibabu'' Shatrunghan Sinha, Mahavir Cancer Sansthan Director Dr Jitendra Kumar Singh and the former Patna University Vice-Chancellor Dr S N P Sinha were among others present on the occasion.
