Punjab based smugglers held with 50-kg poppy straw in Samba
Jammu, Sep 20 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two Punjab based narcotic smugglers and recovered 50-kg of poppy straw from their possession in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.
''Based on specific information, a special nakka was laid down last evening near village Supwal on Jammu-Kathua National Highway,'' official sources told UNI.
However, a car was intercepted by the police, which was on its way from Jammu to Punjab.
''During frisking, 50-kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle while two drug peddlers were also arrested on the spot and they have been identified as Narinder Singh, resident of Amritsar and Sakatar Singh, resident of Gurdaspur,'' police sources added.
