TN: Nigerian held for possessing duplicate visa
Chennai, Sep 20: Airport Police arrested a Nigerian for possessing a duplicate visa at Chennai Airport today.
Police said Miyoa Martin(21), a second year Information Technology student of a private engineering college in New Delhi, was required to go to Vietnam. He did not get his visa in time. When he approached a travel agent, he was told that instead of leaving from capital, it would be easy for him to proceed from Chennai to Vietnam, via Malaysia on a duplicate visa.
Mr Martin came to Chennai from New Delhi last evening and before boarding the Malaysian-bound MH-181 flight scheduled at 2330 hrs, the immigration officials noticed that his visa was a forged one.
After interrogating him for sometime, they handed him over to the airport police this morning.
The airport police arrested him and transferred the case to Central Crime Branch(CCB), police added.
