Man shot dead by 5 people in Surendrangar dist

Rajkot, Sep 20 (UNI) A 30-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by five people at Halwad town in Surendranagar district, last evening.

According to police, five people in a car, started chasing Rajesh Vaishnav, a resident of Charadva (Halwad taluka), who was walking on the Sara road on foot.

When Rajesh realised that they were after him, he ran away and took shelter in a nearby house, but the assailants reached there and allegedly pumped three bullets in his body, resulting in his death, police said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Bakabhai Thakkar and four others were involved in the crime, police added.

After committing the crime, the assailants fled away from the scene and a man hunt has been launched to nab them, police said.

An old rivalry is suspected to be the cause of Rajesh's murder, according to police.
