Delhi experiences cool, dry day

New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) After three days of rain and thundershowers, Delhi experienced a dry day today, receiving barely 0.9 mm rainfall.

The day temperatures continued to remain low, with the maximum at 27.4 degrees, a departure of seven degrees from normal.

The minimum was also recorded three degrees below normal at 21.4 degrees.

The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with possibility of rain and thundershowers.

The ongoing spell of rains, which began with heavy showers on Wednesday, continued till yesterday with light to medium rains again hitting the capital since morning. Till morning, the city had received 15.3 mm rains, which waned during the day.

Though just 0.9 mm of rainfall was recorded till 1730 hours today, it was enough to maintain coolness in the air despite humidity prevailing at a high level of 100 per cent.
