Central team to visit HP on Sep 24 to assess flood losses
Shimla, Sep 20 (UNI) A central team will visit Himachal Pradesh from September 24 to 26 to assess the flood losses in the state due to excessive rainfall during this monsoon season.
The high powered central team headed by N S Kalsi, joint secreatary, Ministry of Home Affairs, will visit Kangra and Bilaspur districts to take actual stock of situation and assess the flood losses, Himachal Revenue Minister Gulab Singh said while speaking in the annual 'Sair Festival' organised by Delhi based Himachalis at Shah auditorium here today.
The state government has demanded central assistance of Rs 1,000 crore from the central government to compensate the flood losses and also undertake massive relief, rehabilitations, constructions and repair works in various parts of the state which have been badly affected due to heavy rainfall.
