'Will launch agitation if Govt. fails to protect Minorities':Varthur
Kolar, Sept 19 (UNI) Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Varthur Prakash (Independent) today threatened to launch agitation againt the State Government if it fails to protect the interests of the minorities.
Mr Prakash, who is also Karnataka State Water Supply and Seweage Board (KSWSSB) Chairman, talking to newsmen here after visiting St. Mary's Church here on September 18, said that "people belonging to Minoroity and backward class are feeling 'insecure' and the Chief Minister should take immediate steps to bring confidence in them by creating a condusive atmosphere." He demanded the State government to book the culprits responsible for attack on churches and debar from the District.
Stating that Minoroities should not feel 'let down', Mr Prakash assured that he would protect their interests at all costs.
BJP Government headed by Mr B S Yeddyurappa, was supported by six Independent MLAs since it (BJP) has only 110 legislators in the 225 member house with 113 is the number required to form the government.
