Stainless steel better than gold: IGCAR Director
Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) At a time when the prices of gold are touching an unprecedented high, eminent Scientist and Director of Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR) Baldev Raj said stainless steel was the best metal and better than gold.
People were attracted to the yellow metal, not because it had great qualities, but it was available in less and the demand was more.
If iron is available in less, women would vie for jewellery made of stainless steel, he said amid laughter, while addressing the Founder's Day of Sri Ramachandra University, near here.
I always consider stainless steel as the best metal, he said.
Dr Baldev Raj also exhorted people, especially the Medicos and other para-medical staff, not to follow the wheels of the chariot of the west.
Stating that India would soon become one of the developed countries in the world, he asked the people to ponder as to ''what is the vision when the country becomes one of the develped countries.'' UNI WS DS RL BD1755
