Srinagar, Sep 19: Concerned over the reports that some schools are gearing up to conduct final examination in September in the Valley, the school education department, Kashmir, has ordered that no term-two test be held before October 15.

Official sources said school management and parents are in favour of early examinations, apprehending trouble after Eid-ul-fitr, because of 'Lal Chowk chalo' call given by the Coordination Committee (CC), spearheading the present agitation in the Valley on October 6.

Almost all private institutions have already issued date sheets for the examinations from Monday.

The education department has, however, asked the heads of all government and private schools not to conduct term 2 tests till October 15, and continue routine classroom activities to make up the deficiency in teaching earning process caused, due to the recent disturbances in the state, so that completion of syllabus is ensured.

Besides, conducting of unit tests within routine classroom transactions is also ordered to avoid loss of time.

The department has instructed all chief education officers and zonal education officers to monitor regular classroom activities.
