Mah CM inaugurates smart property card for CIDCO

Mumbai, Sep 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today inaugurated a programme of giving smart property cards to CIDCO customers.

At a small function at CM's office in Mantralaya here, CIDCO chairman Nakul Patil and managing director G S Gill gave a demonstration to Mr Deshmukh and other officials about functioning of the smart card. The card holds all the data related to particular flat or plot allotted to customer and all the subsequent transactions relating to the same.

The Chief Minster appreciated the idea. He handed over such cards to four new purchasers of CIDCO properties.

At the function, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between CIDCO and the state forest department on one side and an NGO to protect and guard mangroves on the waterfront.

A wetland management programme would be undertaken by the NGO, where an institution would be build to study and protect the dwindling stocks of mangroves. The wetlands around the city attract a vast number of migratory birds and a facility to watch the same from a safe distance would be created near Palm Beach road waterfront. It was disclosed at the presentation given on the subject to the Chief Minister.
