JCT Mills will now be known as JCT Sports Pvt Ltd
Phagwara, Sep 19 (UNI) The famed Punjab soccer outfit, JCT Mills will now play under the banner of JCT Sports Pvt Ltd.
This has been done as per the new rules of All India Football Federation (AIFF), which has made itmandatory for all I-League clubs to declare themselves as commercial entities.
JCT, who finished runners-up in the inaugural I-League, are one of the hot contenders for the title this season.
Meanwhile reports of some foreign players seeking transfer to other clubs are doing the rounds at the JCT football training camp which is underway here, ahead of the I-League. Among the names being mentioned are those of Brazilian striker Marcos Pereira who may shift to Mohun Bagan and Nigerian defender, Julius is negotiating with East Bengal.
When contacted JCT coach Sukhwinder Singh confirmed that Marcos and Julius are negotiating with other clubs. " Though we are the best pay masters but foreign players at times demand very high amounts", he added.
