Jawan dies in accidental fire in Reasi
Jammu, Sep 19 (UNI) An army jawan today died in accidental fire in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here said.
''A bullet hit the neck of a jawan, identified as Praveen T V of 54 Rashtriya Rifles, from short range when his weapon accidentally went off while carrying a firing practice at Kunala Gala,'' the sources told UNI.
The jawan got critically wounded and was immediately shifted to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
''The jawan was hailing from district Chinanore, Kerala and a court of inquiry has been ordered into the matter,'' Defence Spokesman Lt Col S D Goswami said.
Meanwhile police have registered a case.
