Godavari Dairy to be revived by October: Collector
Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, Sep 19(UNI) East Godavari Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today said the Godavari Dairy at Rajahmundry, which had been closed for the past few years, would be revived under the 'Ksheera Kranti Pathakam' by October, with initial milk procurement of 30,000 litres.
Addressing the RDOs, Tahsildars, MDOs and officers of the agriculture and veterinary departments, he said 14 bulk milk-cooling units, which would be linked to 30 to 40 villages each, would be started, organising 400 milk collection centres.
Already incharges were selected for nine bulk milk cooling units and the remaining is under process, he said, adding that for collection of milk, training would be imparted to 150 pala mithra' workers so far. Training to the remaining 150 would also be imparted in two batches soon.
The Collector said the sole aim was to take the milk collection to a total of 50,000 litres by December end. He assured to provide incentives to milk producers and pala mithra workers, besides providing jobs, imparting training to one each in their families under the Rajiv Udyogasri Scheme.
