EC asks MP to issue photo-attached documents

Bhopal, Sep 19: The Election Commission (EC) has asked the Madhya Pradesh government to issue photo-attached documents released by government departments that can be used by voters without photo identity cards as alternative document, official sources said today.

Photo voters identity cards and photo electoral rolls establish idenitity of voters. However, a large number of voters do not possess photo identity cards. Under such circumstances, alternative documents could be utilised for establishing identity.

These documents can include caste certificate, disability certificate, 'kisan' pass book, ration card, etc, the EC said.
