Court cancels MLC's membership
Patna, Sep 19 (UNI) Terming the election of MLC Balram Singh Yadav, elected to the Bihar legislative council in 2003, illegal, the Patna High court today cancelled his membership.
After hearing a petition of Abhay Kumar Singh, a single bench comprising Justice Mr Ajay Kumar Tripathi, ordered cancellation of his membership.
The petitioner had stated that of the total 51 nominations filed for the election to the legislative council in 2003, only his papers were rejected without any valid reason.
The petition was filed under Public Representation Act, 1951.
Balram Singh Yadav alias Balram Singh was elected to the Upper House from Sahrsa-Madhepura-Supaul civic body area.
