Banswara tensed following unholy act during religious procession

Jaipur, Sep 18 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Banswara town this evening following incidents of arson and traffic jam on highway by a mob protesting against unholy act of a group of miscreants during a religious procession being carried out by a particular community.

According to official sources the mob, protesting against the throwing of "unholy objects" during the procession, blocked the National Highway number 113 in Kushalgarh area in the city.

The mob, demanding arrest of culprits, burnt tyres and some other material on the road and allegedly roughed up the District Collector and some other officials who tried to persuade the agitating people to clear the road.

The blockade continued till late night, the sources said.
