Bandhs organised to protest unholy act
Jaipur, Sep 19 (UNI) Bandhs were organised today in Banswara and Dhariawad in nearby Udaipur district to protest against an unholy act of a group of miscreants during a religious procession which was carried out by Jain community yesterday evening.
The bandhs evoked good response as most of the shops and business establishments in the two towns remained closed.
No untoward incident was reported from anywhere, police said.
Situation turned tensed last night when a mob protesting against throwing of "unholy objects" during the procession blocked National Highway number 113 in Kushalgarh area in the city and burnt tyres and some other material.
The mob demanding arrest of culprits, had also roughed up the District Collector and some other officials who tried to persuade agitating people to clear the road.
